Try installing that package
@pearl willow don't take people's dots, you don't know how to use them
With pacman
sudo pacman -S gtksourceviewmm
Do I just build one from scratch?
yes, with help
Ideally yeah
first, you will need a bar, the most popular is waybar
What I do instead of downloading dots is I just look inside the dots and see how it works
Got it
Waybar has great documentation
this is mine
@pearl willow remove the git version
pacman -Rns hyprland-git
There's no hyprland-git
sudo pacman -Rns hyprpaper-git
@pearl willow sudo pacman -Rns hyprgraphics-git
don't do that
Can’t you just umm yay -Rcs hyprland-git?
Yeah -c removes dependencies
App launcher
Rofi
There’s also wofi
I use something completely different I forgot the name
rofi-wayland is rofi, but for wayland
Wofi is just Wayland rofi
I love the text type of app launcher so wofi
How do I put it on like waybar
Or somethin
I know
You can make a custom module that launches wofi on click
How
not recommended
Well im a keyboard type of guy anyway
Yeah I wouldn’t do that myself
Hmm
this is not hyprland
It's awesome the window manager you are using
no
dwl, the wayland version of dwm
Oh
Well I'm trying to figure out how to launch wofi with keyboard bind
What's the bind?
Check hyprland config
@pearl willow rofi -show drun -show-icons
If it isn’t there then make it
I'm in the config file
Turns out it was r
💀
Okay next up is to change the waybar style
r for rofi 👍
In the config
Which by default is in /etc/waybar/
You’d probably want copy to ~/.config/waybar/ tho
what windows?
Odd way to move windows
Makes sense tho
Yeah
You can click anywhere
It has two files
*3
First off where's etc located?
cp /etc/waybar ~/.config/waybar
Just /etc
By default it’s 2
There's no waybar file
Where?
@pearl willow
sudo pacman -S waybar
cp -r
Done that nothin
Interesting
Still nothing
Is waybar even installed tho
It is
cp -r * ~/.config/waybar
cd ~/.config/waybar
ls
sudo pacman -S discord flameshot
Well in that case
which waybar
There's no directory for waybar
Interesting so it just doesn’t exist
You could download the example configs from the repo
I'm in waybar now thanks
killertofus received a thank you cookie!
touch config.jsonc
git clone https://github.com/Alexays/Waybar/
cp * /Waybar/resources .
Clone that?
@pearl willow check your config
I'm in config
bind = , print, exec, flameshot gui
where do i put it
in your hyprland config
exec-once = flameshot
bind = $mainMod, Print, exec, flameshot gui
bind = $mainMod + SHIFT, Print, exec, XDG_CURRENT_DESKTOP=sway flameshot gui -r | wl-copy
uh
wait the exec once i put up top
Under the see thing
now press printscreen button
nothing
reboot hyprland
alr
@pearl willow photo please
@pearl willow Photo please
@pearl willow search for keybindings
@pearl willow like this https://wiki.hyprland.org/Configuring/Binds/
my brain is fried
@pearl willow I wouldn't recommended using a wm for my first use of a wm in arch, I would recommended using a de to get to know arch a little bit better, then use a wm
dw a little rest can give me more brain power
@topaz stump i think i need the waybar to use flameshot
No you don’t
What’s the issue?
Open the config file for waybar
.
Wdym let me see
help
Get the default config from the waybar repo
You copied the default configs?
yep
Yeah now you customize them
I’ve never customized wofi besides theme
