Out of curiosity, are you sure it's zsh that makes it slow? If you use bash, is it faster to open? Just to narrow down if it's zsh or something else causing the slowdown

Hmm.. can you show your zshrc?
I'd also try and run time zsh --interactive -c exit it may need time to be gotten from pacman too.
