What exact command did you run to build it?
You probably want makepkg -irs
If you don't have -i, it won't install dependencies
i just did makepkg thx for the help
@chrome ether why use the git version?
because i thought thats just the way most software gets installed on this OS
arch?
endevour os?
cachy?
@chrome ether what de/wm are you on?
de/wm?
cinnamon
pacman -Rns flameshot-git
pacman -S flameshot
you usually don't need to install the git versions of any packages, unless the stable package is broken/has a new feature
pacman -Qm > aurpackages.txt
upload that please
@chrome ether
i put in that command
now upload that txt file please
@chrome ether why use snap?
getting Docker to set up a minecraft server with my friends was my priority
add a ! to debug packages in your makepkg.conf https://gitlab.archlinux.org/archlinux/packaging/packages/pacman/-/blob/main/makepkg.conf#L100
i did that today while trying to download an autoclicker with git as well but then gave up halfway thru
remove flameshot git
i also wanted to get rid of wine because its not working how i want but dont remember how
and replace it with the non git version
snap list > snappackages.txt
upload that please
sudo snap remove package_name
sudo pacman -S flameshot discord firefox
sudo pacman -S prismlauncher
@chrome ether cinnamon wayland or x11?
xclicker in the aur
sudo pacman -Rns snapd
is this clicker for pvp in minecraft?
i have cinnamon i think, or at least thats what i remember from ArchInstall
Don't just give them commands
If they want to use Snap, they can use snap
There's nothing wrong with it
Don't try forcing your own prefences onto them without explaning and acting like they're doing something wrong
did you pick cinnamon wayland from lightdm?
i was using whatever was going to work
@chrome ether echo $XDG_SESSION_TYPE
okay, yes x11
then xclicker will work
yes, skelly grinder
now you can remove snap, because all of your packages are in the native repos/aur
@chrome ether
pacman -Q flatpak
hold on, im still trying to absorb what you where meaning when it came to uninstalling things
i think i remember using flatpak before
have you used other linux os's before?
flatpak --help gave me the help page so i do have it
Was there a reason you were using snap by the way?
flatpak list
I used linux mint on my laptop for a while but i wanted to jump in the deep end and sink or swim
@chrome ether this helps you understand pacman commands better https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Pacman/Rosetta
this gives a guide that explains the equivalent apt command for arch
ie pacman -Q is the same as apt list --installed
yea, i skimmed it a little bit, im also fighting ADHD so little patience

why use the bedrock version?
i was going to try to get it working but it would mean that i would have needed to buy it off of the google play store
im just not going to play bedrock anymore, i got Java
apkpure 😉 😉
im still not going to play bedrock but ill keep that in mind
flatpak uninstall --all
sudo pacman -Rns flatpak
Arch Linux related mailing lists and other official Arch Linux support channels are not an appropriate place to request help with snaps on Arch Linux.
was just opening this ticket for the flameshot thing and it was answered with the -irs flags
This isn't offical?
What are you talking about?
But this isn't an offical server
im going to see myself out
They can ask about help with snaps here if they wanted
... solved
that's fair
