how many times have you reformatted for btrfs
@lethal hare as of now like 3
I had the exact same thing heaps of times a year ago. One time switching to ext4 helped but i had issues months later from that. Otherwise trying without some other optioms like specofic packages or LUKS, or a full wipe with zeros on the disk and trying again otherwise can manually partition it pretty easywith cfdisk and then use archinstall ontop of it. No odea why that worked but it sometimes helped. I had a bunch of different weird things work ib the past for that specific problem
did you try to install newest archinstall version?
like when you boot into archiso
pacman -R archinstall
then
pacman -S archinstall
Smart
Huh ok I will try installing and reinstalling arch install first
If not then im going to fully wipe the disk then reparation it manually
I usually partition it manually before I run the arch install script
Okay no medium found. Sucks that was at pipe wire must have been the end of ypu installation process. Ide follow those instructions as rhat is actually cool / unique. And try the install again but dont install that audio package (you can do it later real easy)
But then again user scope bus is weird too, means that SU command interacting with the systemd is not going well. Are you doing anything different apart from a run of the mill archinstall ? Any modifications or custom iso your loading? You doing chroot or ipboot?
Otherwise I would just wipe it and try again with those optional options in archinstall off. You can run dd zero over the disk for 5 mins after using cfdisk to clear the partitions.
Very strange honestly. I think there may have been some left over data in the partition table that messed it up as wiping may not actually do it all hence why it may take a few passes. Only way i could think ubless im missing something obvious but yeah TLDR: 1.retry with less options and wiping the disk
2. Get a different mirror image of arch and do step one
As i have countless issues when using the australian image and btrfs but worldwide works just fine. Which is honestly concerning but who knows why.
Hope that helps sorry it may not be a silver bullet
Thank you so much for your help the solution was to fully wipe the disk
