@wraith pasture are you using wine to use steam?
nope
i installed steam with pacman
btw this game uses 32 bit for smth im pretty sure but i dont think thats the problem rn
out of curiosity, and this one might be a bit of a dumb one. but do you have proton enabled?
what game are you trying to run?
rivals of aether 1
and currently beamng works and so does some other smaller games
https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=211591 this seems to be the issue at hand. Though I don't entirely understand it
thats a diffrent error tho?
@wraith pasture pacman -Syu, then reboot
apart from the preload but thats prob just gonna make a visual bug
oh yea thats smart
oh wait none of my games work
just tried to launch beamng too
same error let me try that rlly quick
yea that might fix it lol i see alot of proton and multilib stuff
alr back gonna test
same error
couldent launch with steam.exe
on a side note rlly quick it wont connect to wifi automatically yet i can still use wifi
uhhh i disabled proton and now wine is updating?
could be a good thing
new error
nvm its an integrity problem just have to validate maybe
nvm 💀
i should never trust smth so simple
uhm excuse me?
so its running thru wine now whoops
but it did launch
not rivals still
def broken tho all the font stuff is so dead
HOLY AND NOW WE ARE BACK TO THE SAME PROBLEM WITH PROTON
smth with my nvme again
it has to be proton at this point idk what else to guess
cause another actuall linux game launches
@wraith pasture what proton version are you using?
experimental
ima test that linux game with proton
and see if it fails
AND IT DID ITS PROTON
time to go down the line of versions
ok based of this line tho which its always giving me now with proton
can it just not access my nvme since it says i dont own it?
are you running games from a usb?
uhhhh its an external nvme so yea kinda
why?
cause i dont have space on my motherboard to add it
its also my fastest drive so i prefer to use it rather than my hardrive or boot ssd which usually get filled up instantly
ok so i found a proton that worked for now
i think
but it dosent allow me to use it on rivals
hot fix seems to not be giving errors
AY IT WORKED
HOT FIX IS THE SOLUTION
ok not for everything whoops
... what filesystem does the USB have on it?
@wraith pasture
oh whoops
ntfs
trying to do this but mkdir isent a command
im guessing arch dosent have that command
mkdir is absolutely a command.
im stupid
prob typed it wrong
how should i got about this
says its not a directory which not surprised
@wraith pasture gnome disks -> Additional partition options -> edit mount options
ok then what
automount it
replace the identify as with a "clean" name
save and quit
yea i did
now reboot
