yay: error while loading shared libraries: libalpm.so.14: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

how i installed:
git clone http://aur.archlinux.org/yay-bin
cd yay-bin
makepkg -Si
makepkg -i

usually works but when i reinstalled arch seems to be a bug
any help would be appreciated

run pacman -Syu, remove yay, install yay again

#

last time i saw this it was caused by pacman updating to 7.0

coarse hollow
#

-> yay-bin: local (12.4.2-1) is newer than pcp (12.3.5-1)

#

now i get this

#

is this normal

#

also thanks

pallid marsh
#

yeah it looks like your local stuff is too old

coarse hollow
#

i updated it tho

pallid marsh
#

might want to pick a better mirror

coarse hollow
#

pallid marsh
#

#

pallid marsh
#

coarse hollow
#

as long asi it works

#

its gonna keep bugging me about that tho

#

thank you

pallid marsh
#

yay-bin does not seem to be in chaotic

coarse hollow
#

i just like direct binaries

pallid marsh
#

whatever that pcp repo is, its most likely your fault

coarse hollow
#

dont have to spend all the time on building

#

why i use it

pallid marsh
#

yeah me too

coarse hollow
#

checking what pcp is

#

there seems to be something between yay and pcp

pallid marsh
#

pcp in your case is some kind of a repository

coarse hollow
#

oh yeah

#

but wouldnt other repository take over there are newer packages
