why not use archinstall?
its way easier and u won't need to do complicated things considering u don't know about arch that much im not so good either but i recommend just doing it easier way archinstall will do the partitions for u
@pallid crystal the Arch Linux community does not offer support for the information contained in videos; for installation procedures, the Installation guide is the only officially supported document. The content in the videos may be out of date or inaccurate
You still have to understand partitioning in archinstall. If you want to go for default one, you may regreat your choice in future
yeah but he's a beginner in arch so i don't think it'll be a problem to go for default one for now he can always reinstall with backups or change partitions to his needs
yeah, basically this is how I installed first time years ago, at that time archinstall introduced recently, At First I attempted to install it manually but skill issue, After lots of learing... breaking, understaning how linux works.. reading lots of stuff... I did it...It was worth it
it took me 6 straight hours to figure out how to install it manually (and 4 screen punches)
when I was doing manually first time after I stuck in dependency hell(installed using archisntall), I did it in first go, but fucked up in grub.. it takes me 2 days to figure out the problem was with my BIOS
After that I installed it least 30 times, and made my own documentation - https://github.com/Ace-c/Minimal-Arch-Installation
All You Need Is KISS - This is very straightforward guide for arch installation - Ace-c/Minimal-Arch-Installation
