all in one?
well, replacing yay with your aur helper.
i have yay'
ok, then use that. That should uninstall esound and install pulseaudio
thiss? yay Rcns esound && sudo pacman -S pulseaudio pulseaudio-jack pulseaudio-alsa pulseaudio-zeroconf
yes
yes
ok. Try that then.
ok so i did that and got this
woops, you forgot the - in -Rcns. I missed it when you sent the command.
yay -Rcns esound && sudo pacman -S pulseaudio pulseaudio-jack pulseaudio-alsa pulseaudio-zeroconf
[kelby@archlinux ~]$ yay -Rcns esound && sudo pacman -S pulseaudio pulseaudio-jack pulseaudio-alsa pulseaudio-zeroconf
-> database already registered
[kelby@archlinux ~]$

nothing happened
ok, send your /etc/pacman.conf .
ok how?
just paste it or attach the file.
how do i get it
cat /etc/pacman.conf
ok, open /etc/pacman.conf in a text editor.
what editor do you use?
kwite
ok, first, in a terminal, run pacman -Sl enlightenment | grep "\[installed\]"
what the?
@digital kernel ik this us off topic but how do I change my background
I have no idea. It's hyprland. I don't use hyprland. Try #quick-questions
@long ridge
ok, great. In the text editor, remove everything below ```# An example of a custom package repository. See the pacman manpage for
tips on creating your own repositories.
#[custom]
#SigLevel = Optional TrustAll
#Server = file:///home/custompkgs```
it is at the bottom. you should remove the line [enlightenment] and everything below it.
wait
oh wait, it says permission denied doesn't it.
I forgot to mention run it with sudo.
huh. That's weird.
it worked i saved it what now?
now you should just run yay -Rcns esound && sudo pacman -S pulseaudio pulseaudio-jack pulseaudio-alsa pulseaudio-zeroconf
[kelby@archlinux ~]$ yay -Rcns esound && sudo pacman -S pulseaudio pulseaudio-jack pulseaudio-alsa pulseaudio-zeroconf
error: target not found: esound
-> exit status 1
[kelby@archlinux ~]$
ok, then you just removed pulseaudio without installing enlightenment. That's why audio was not working.
run sudo pacman -S pulseaudio pulseaudio-jack pulseaudio-alsa pulseaudio-zeroconf. That should fix it.
its loading
ok
maybe, I dont remember. Probably a good idea.
try running sudo systemctl enable --now pulseaudio.socket
[kelby@archlinux ~]$ sudo systemctl enable --now pulseaudio.socket
[sudo] password for kelby:
Failed to enable unit: Unit pulseaudio.socket does not exist
[kelby@archlinux ~]$

right, I forgot user. I meant systemctl --user enable --now pulseaudio.socket
[kelby@archlinux ~]$ systemctl --user enable --now pulseaudio.socket
[kelby@archlinux ~]$
nothing happens
does audio work though?
try systemctl --user start pulseaudio.service
nothing again
well that command shouldn't output anything.
oh ok
ok, sadly, I dont know. It's weird. You might want to try pipewire.
ok, you should just have to run sudo pacman -Rcns pulseaudio-jack pulseaudio-alsa pulseaudio-zeroconf && sudo pacman -S pipewire pipewire-pulse pipewire-alsa pipewire-jack
just removes pulseaudio and installes pipewire.
error: failed to prepare transaction (could not satisfy dependencies)
:: removing pulseaudio breaks dependency 'pulseaudio' required by efl-git
:: removing pulseaudio breaks dependency 'pulseaudio=17.0-3' required by pulseaudio-equalizer
[kelby@archlinux ~]$
what now?
[kelby@archlinux ~]$ sudo pacman -S pipewire pipewire-pulse
warning: pipewire-1:1.2.5-1 is up to date -- reinstalling

:: pipewire-pulse-1:1.2.5-1 and pulseaudio-17.0-3 are in conflict. Remove pulseaudio? [y/N] y

:: removing pulseaudio breaks dependency 'pulseaudio=17.0-3' required by pulseaudio-equalizer
[kelby@archlinux ~]$
ok, figured it out
nnice!
try this: yay -Rcns pulseaudio-jack pulseaudio-alsa pulseaudio-zeroconf pulseaudio-equalizer efl-git
[kelby@archlinux ~]$ yay -Rcns pulseaudio-jack pulseaudio-alsa pulseaudio-zeroconf pulseaudio-equalizer efl-git
error: target not found: pulseaudio-jack
error: target not found: pulseaudio-alsa
error: target not found: pulseaudio-zeroconf
-> exit status 1
[kelby@archlinux ~]$
well hold on, you do want to remove enlightenment right? Just confirming.
ok, this should work then. yay -Rcns pulseaudio pulseaudio-equalizer efl-git
ok, run sudo pacman -S --needed pipewire pipewire-audio pipewire-pulse pipewire-jack pipewire-alsa wireplumber
ok finished running
ok, reboot.
what? were you using enlightened?
@digital kernel be warned, they are a help vampire
What do I do?
were you using the enlightenment wm?
what wm/de were you using?
With the space after startx?
oh, ok
it could take a second.
int a tty run systemctl status display-manager.
I have to restart
you can't just switch to a tty?
that is really weird, we didn't even touch kde.
kde decided to stop working
in what way ?
um... It didn't start
ohh so linux is bricked
kde didn't start != linux is bricked.
you could just reinstall it.
its not my computer, it's @long ridge s
also how do u know the keybind to minimise windows on hyprland
no idea.
i cant seem to figure it out
@long ridge have u tried to chroot or mount your drive ??
We can close this
