52 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
do you have some sort of getty client
wym
like do you have automatic login
ly wasn't tested with hyprland
i recommend you use greetd, it does not have any caveats and
"works flawlessly"
or, alt3rnatively
you can start Hyprland through a pure TTY
aight but ly always worked without problems for me until now tho
i just logged into the shell cuz hyprland was lagging
and changed the conf file and it just greets me with this error now
try using:
XDG_CURRENT_DESKTOP = wayland
in hyprland.conf?
No in the terminal
just now
fresh install
i've installed arch many times never got this error until now
probably confused session*
try restarting hyprland
hyprland was tweaking cuz im not using an us keyboard so i used shell to change hyprland default keyboard
did that many times
even rebooting
the error just spawn in when i log in my session
it disappear after a few secondes tho
its your display manager being 🐌
damn
its the only nice display manager in archinstall (dont blame me for using it)
i dont wanna use gdm or sddm
archinstall
Why didn't you tag it?
What ever.
Use greetd
i didnt thought it would be linked to it
how to change the display manager
if u got a wiki or tuto
it just made the screen go black lol
im gonna try fixing it by myself dw abt it
its not important anyway
This is described at: https://wiki.hyprland.org/Configuring/Environment-variables/
You can use the env keyword to set environment variables prior to the initialization of the Display Server, e.g.:
env = GTK_THEME,Nord Hyprland puts the raw string to the envvar with the env keyword. You should not add quotes around the values.
e.g.:
env = QT_QPA_PLATFORM,wayland and NOT
env = QT_QPA_PLATFORM,"wayland" Please avoid putting those...
`XDG Specifications
env = XDG_CURRENT_DESKTOP,Hyprland
env = XDG_SESSION_TYPE,wayland
env = XDG_SESSION_DESKTOP,Hyprland
XDG specific environment variables are often detected through portals and applications that may set those for you, however it is not a bad idea to set them explicitly.
If your desktop portal is malfunctioning for seemingly no reason (no errors), it’s likely your XDG env isn’t set correctly.`
