okay it's LUKS encrypted, sorry dude but idk how to help, im not knowledgable enuf
I use LUKS encryption for my arch maybe I can help you
You said that you’re UUID are correct
You’re config of grub is not correct
this is my config :
(forget about the nvidia part)
you need to add this
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="loglevel=3 quiet cryptdevice=UUID=UUID-of-your-crypt-partition:name-of-your-crypt-partition root=UUID=UUID-of-the-partition-decrypt"
No problem
@hardy beacon
I think you just need to modify /etc/default/grub
to see your UUID : lsblk -f
This
I can show my fstab if you want but I just generate it
For my case I have just 2 partitions (boot and root/home)
Just a second
my fstab :
you have an option to do a separate home or not
Yeah it s the name of my partition
But maybe for you is different
Oh but
Erase name and put the name you chose maybe
I don’t really know, need to check archwiki for your case
I think you just need to add your root partition
After root=UUID= put the UUID of your root partition
No!
Erase Nvidia part
I have a nvidia driver that’s why
And you forgot to add root=UUID=your UUID
Look
(Decrypt)
Because the UUID for a decrypt and a crypt partition (the same partition) is not the same
But anyway if you look closer the UUID of my /dev/mapper on my fstab is the same on my grub config (it s my root partition(root=UUID=“”)
(Which is my decrypt root/home partition)
Erase this part anyway, you will install nvidia driver after
Lsblk -f show you this
Cryptroot is my decrypt root partition (with the UUID)
And nvme0nip6 is my crypt root partition with the UUID
Yeah
Can you show me lsblk -f ?
Wtf
Thanks
Nvmep2 is your root partition ?
Oh yeah !
Depend of what do you want
Ok so
F2d is your crypt partition
That s correct
If you want a graphical option, you can take a live USB with for example Linux mint/fedora or Ubuntu and copy all your files you want in a disk
Or if you want to reinstall directly an OS, don’t format your /home partition
