Recently, I installed a wallpaper engine from Steam on Win11 so I could use animated wallpapers just to see what would happen. While having said animated wallpapers running in the background, it makes everything a bit more laggier. So I decided to try and install a wallpaper engine on Arch and see how the performance is. But I'm having trouble with the installation and many issues are beginning to pop up one after another? Could the github be outdated or was it a misinstallation on my side?

Just looking at the repo it appears to be fairly inactive
and i see nothing saying it supports plasma 6.
I would'nt even bother with it to be honest.
Yeah agreed
Prob why it doesn't work.
Well thanks, anyways @vocal creek
skitoxe received a thank you cookie!
there are 4 commits this year to the repo
none of them talks about plasma 6 and it wasnt around last year. So i'll bet my left nut your going to be hard pressed to get that working
Yeah I already had a hard time getting it to work last night
At least now I know.
wallpaper engine is uh, not a great idea on linux
I didn't fuck anything up lol dw
I barely scratched the surface
i mean it won't do any damage, just won't work
Yup.
@slim torrent off topic question
But uh
Is there any way to reduce lag on Win11 when using a wallpaper engine?
Lemme send a ss in dms
if you have a weaker machine, there might not be much you can do
i think wallpaper engine might have some quality adjustments, so you could try changing the resolution or framerate of the wallpapers and see if it helps
thats a very capable PC i would say
just make sure your monitors aren't plugged into your motherboard
$3000 not to mention when my dad got it for me when it came out
Why would it be in the first place?
idk, in case you did it
Lmao
I bought the wallpaper engine from Steam btw
I use Rainmeter and Lively Wallpaper for the customization shit
