I think you may need to install a driver for this to work
Is this a freshly made archinstall live media?
Yes
How is it possbile to install a drive before the installation
rtw8821 is in kernel anyway and udev should take care of it
you can usually just download the package from the archlinux package website or the aur website and install it using pacman -U or makepkg respectively
is it? I see there is a package in the aur
and a github repo for it as well
But i dont have access to wifi
You download the package from another computer
I mean this errorr is before wifi
Thanks I gess i get it. i will try and if it fixed i will tell you
np. Do you know how to install aur packages or compiling directly from github? Because the driver I found online needs to be compiled
No
https://wireless.wiki.kernel.org/en/users/drivers
nvm, looks like my mistake
and at the right there is a button called view PKGBUILD
You want to create a folder in your arch USB
call it something like wifi-driver it doesn't really matter
and create a text file
you should name the text file PKGBUILD with no extension
and copy the contents of the PKGBUILD on the website into the text file
then boot back into the usb and mount it using mount /dev/sdX /mnt sdX being your usb drive
cd into the folder containing the PKGBUILD and type makepkg -si
and that should install everything hopefully
actually wait that may not work now that I think about it because the live USB should not have gcc and make installed and it certainly does not have enough space for it
I can try compiling the package for you
sorry, shouldnt be neccessary https://wireless.wiki.kernel.org/en/users/drivers/rtl819x#mac80211_based
rtw8821ce should be available under rtw88 in kernel
it should. but host 2 card message makes me think it could be faulty live media
There is something else: the first boot i was able to connect siccexcfully but a reason i turned my laptop off by power button when i was still live
Did you try to connect to the internet after installing arch with archinstall or before while still in the live USB?
because I don't understand how else it could randomly break like that
doubt this will do anything but maybe you could try just rebooting once? If it worked before maybe that's all you need
I reboot with power button
alr
changing usb port with the live media could produce a different result as well.
they can be pretty sensitive
I will try
It didnt work
This didnt work either
Is there any way to reset the setting
a forced reboot shouldnt mess with it this much tbh
are u sure nothing else has instructed it to poweroff?
rfkill says its unblocked?
yea looks good
So what do you think i must do now
depends on what you are expecting vs experiencing
im guessing you usually connect to wifi with wlan0?
Yes
iwctl device wlan0 connect ssid
doesnt work at all, 0 questions about it its 1000% borked?
replace ssid with your routers name
iwctl device wlan0 connect ssid
does anything happen
Let me give it a shot
please do
ok lets do it a step at a time then
iwctl
easy command, should put you in an interactive environment
does your prompt look different?
Yes i
device list
station wlan0 scan
give it a few
station wlan0 get-networks
It shows me available networks
station wlan0 connect NETWORK-THAT-SHOWED-UP
What is this
Oh i get it
it's case sensitive too
It wanna password
so enter the password'
It start again
The spam
But with a diffrent
Not its not diffrent the tables broke
yea yea let it spam and go to another tty with ctrl + alt + F5 maybe
nothing you can do to interrupt the command?
for example
$ sleep 10
**✘ 127 **^C
ctrl+c stops the sleep
Nope
back in the tty you ran it from earlier
so you arent trying to stop a running command from tty1 in tt5
@lethal leaf
Bro i download the whole iso again and nothing changee
I think im cooked
nah hang on
I am using another usb for sure
