what it says in the title, I've installed linux several times before but it's having a weird issue on this machine, might have to do with the fact that this one uses gpt and has that tpm chip, it is disabled though.

I can't find what the issue means, it would be nice if someone could tell me what the issue means so I can either research it further or keep asking for help with it.

-I am using ventoy
-It doesn't work when I burn just endeavouros into my usb either
-it doesn't work with arch linux either, it just loads the iso into ram cause it can
-I have tried turning on secure boot support on ventoy and it doesn't work either.
-I've played around with bios settings but idrk.
-CSM is disabled.
-this is a 7600x on a b650m pro rs using the igpu, with a single 2tb hdd on the sata port, windows works just fine by the way.
-ventoy is using exfat, I haven't tried other file formats

Same thing with arch but it saves itself by running it from ram

#

I havent tried turning TPM on, I will try though I doubt it will do much. It doesnt work either

Try using a different USB port on your PC/Laptop

full jasper
#

Will try a gen2 port maybe it'll work

dry seal
#

Maybe

full jasper
#

Nope

#

It has to be specifically the USB 3.2 gen 2 port

#

I was very used to the port being the USB 2.0

dry seal
#

ah weird

#

hm

#

could you try using

#

Balena etcher?

full jasper
#

I tested it with balena etcher

#

Seems to work regardless with ventoy in that specific port

dry seal
#

Interesting

full jasper
#

It's weird but it works

#

Thanks

#

Doesnt say anything about it in the manual either

dry seal
#

Ventoys been

#

iffy recently

full jasper
#

Really?

dry seal
#

Yeah

#

it's not the best

full jasper
#

Guess I'll use balena

dry seal
# keen quiver Use dd

Either work, Balena has been the easiest for me historically, but I can understand using DD.

full jasper
#

I'm guessing electrically only the bios flashback USB port and the 3.2 gen2 port are directly connected to the cpu

#

Oh nevermind it stopped working again, I'll go use balena

dry seal
#

👍

Also, just a recommendation, use Arch forums for questions like this Please

dry seal
#

discord is generally quicker tbf

keen quiver
#

Because discord is not indexable at all and if someone has your same problem they are not going to find any results and someone will just ask the same question over and over again forever

keen quiver
#

For simple questions is OK

#

for things like this, is not

dry seal
#

i think this is

#

indexed appropraitely.

keen quiver
dry seal
#

Fair

#

That's fair.

keen quiver
#

Is not accessible by anyone without a Discord account and that is so anoying

dry seal
#

That's why I'm planning on getting a VPS to host these on online

#

(the stuff in my server to be clear)

keen quiver
dry seal
#

ima copy them to the VPS

#

from my server

keen quiver
#

My bad, I didn't see that you posted these privately (I guess)

#

Like a blogpost right?

dry seal
#

Yea and no

#

it's my own personal support server

#

where i try to index stuff better

#

people can join it and shit

#

and search thru the index

#

i tl;dr every support question

#

so that when someone searches for it

#

the answer just shows up

full jasper
#

it works with balena etcher I will consider it as fixed

#

on ventoy it boots the first time but the second time it shits itself and doesn't work even on the correct port
