@tranquil tiger do you want to dualboot?
does not look like they do, looking at their partition table
No
set the mountpoint for p2 to / and the mountpoint for p1 to /boot
go back, don't select manual partition
Its the only Option
screenshot please
@tranquil tiger can you select the other drive?
Its just my usb Stick
Ill try This rq
I guess the p1 is supposed to be the efi
It wont let me
Yea, just do as it says and mount it to /efi instead of /boot/
If the installer isn't lying that should be fine
pacstrap: error: failed to synchronize all databases (unable to lock database)
Not sure why that'd happen on a fresh install
@tranquil tiger why not use stock arch?
If you install Arch manually you'll have a better time later when you run into issues since you know how your system works
Arch and Arch-based distros are very demanding on the user and not something I'd consider user friendly, at least at first before you learn how your system works.
The only thing more user friendly about it is the installation
Thats what he told me
I would recommended pop-os for "my first linux adventure"
I used Ubuntu for a quite a long time and he told me to maybe try arch
Why do you want to use Arch
Genuine question
I got bored of Ubuntu
So you want to learn more about Linux?
I guess so
Then install Arch manually. When I did it that was probably the single densest learning experience I've had with Linux.
You can ask for help here if you need it
I actually just wanted to try something new
I don’t care that much About what os im Running
But Ubuntu got a bit plain
You can use EndeavorOS, but I just think you'll have an easier time in the long run if you learn how your system works.
Wipe the drive and try to use automatic partitioning again
How do i wipe a drive lol
There should have been an option on the original partitioning menu
Is it just erasing everything or the 240 gb ssd only
The SSD you choose is wiped
Can I erase it with using Shred?
It should be in the installer. You could also create a new partition table in either of those programs and select the GPT type
Will This work?
