okay so yea this is horribly stupid, but apparently, upon trying to run an update with yay, jre17-openjdk-17.0.11.u9-1 conflicted with jre17-openjdk-17.0.11.u9-1 and the update couldnt finish normally
that's all i know this far, maybe its a bug within their package or something? i cant explain this to myself in any way
is this because of the headless package? why is the headless package suddenly not working in combination any more? thats the only solution i can come up with

ok nevermind it was different when i used jdk17 instead of jre17 (which was the listed conflicting one)
tho i still cant update
and will this be safe?
i followed the instructions before, yet here we are. will this persist finally?
