#How can I get wayland working on Arch if I want Nvidia to work?

This makes no sense
You put wayland in the title and then you say x11
Also did you read the wiki article on nvidia?
.aw nvidia
Yes
Read properly please
Basically I installed nvidia
That is not how you enable modesetting
it says put this line to work on it
sudo modprobe nvidia_drm modeset=1
(it referring to wayland)
Post the output of lspci -k
No you have to add nvidia_drm.modeset=1 in your kernel parameters
its kinda long
<command to print output> |& curl --data-binary @- https://paste.rs
This is soo cool
Ok what bootloader are u using
grub
Add in the grub config this
Where it says grub cmd line
already done that
What desktop are you using
gnome
alr
For me it was doingln -s /dev/null /etc/udev/rules.d/61-gdm.rules
As root
For gnome
And it works after
I'd try that first
that's what I tried rn
I'm restarting and I'll see
still nothing
Show me your grub config
Pipe it to paste.rs like the first one
cat /etc/default/grub
Then pipe it
Hmm
Did you regen the config after adding the modeset thing?
Also do cat /sys/module/nvidia_drm/parameters/modeset
Make sure it returns Y not N
regen?
aaaa the mocpio?
d*
yes I did
Its okay
No
Add nvidia.NVreg_PreserveVideoMemoryAllocations=1 to the grub cmdline
And follow the rest of the instructions
And dont forget to regen the grub config obv
I forgot to regenerate grub rn
Id just write to say nth was fixed lol
Im kinda getting frustrated with it
Did it
same
nothing gets fixed
I wanna wipe arch away cause this time I have gotten frustrated from discord (screensharing was kinda sh!t, nvidia is shit I know its nvidia's fault but its frustrating)
I'll still see if I can somehow fix it
