@finite turtle do you have a w11 iso?
no, im gonna install ghost spectre 10 superlite
@cobalt plover come here
aka just tweaked 10
@finite turtle 10 is eol fyi
11 is spyware 11.0
then why use windows?
why not make your own?
thats all it is to me
ghost spectre is awesome
The problem With custom ISOs is that you are 100% dependent on the ISO provider and are sometimes even prohibited from changing settings within the OS yourself. Even worse, there is also the possibility of preinstalled malware like keyloggers or reverse shells for botnets. Distributing modified versions of Windows is illegal and can net some serious jail time. You can decide for yourself if someone is willing to break the law just for people to only get a "clean" version of Windows. But don't complain if your credentials get stolen.
ghost spectre is pretty trusted
I could also just use atlasos
see above
- I don't really want to make/tweak my own windows iso, atlas/ghost spectre comes with better ways
- they are usually opensource, atlasos and ghost spectre
don't ever use a pre-customized Windows ISO. Always use an official one with verified hashes, and then apply customizations after installation. This will ensure you don't miss anything shady that gets snuck in.
Projects that modify your existing ISO are also ok (like this one) given that you properly vet the changes it's going to make.
atlasos technically is modifying the existing iso
since they are using playbooks which happens after installation
tl:dr get a w11 iso and debloat it yourself
Not sure what the deal is here? I'm here, but I'm not seeing anything here to help.
@cobalt plover nvm
aight.
ill use atlas playbook to modify the og w10
but all i wanted to know is how do i take half of the storage of my partition
for w10 or w11
the og question got ignored xd
fair enough.
I wanna know how to remove half of this storage and turn it into free space
or if its unrecommended
because i really want to because usb file transfer between a phone and my laptop is super easy on windows
also gaming like roblox and valorant
Nah it's fine but leave at least 20% of free space in the Linux partition. I do it all the time to do my exams then delete windows right after...
I usually just use gparted to shrink the Linux partition and leave some free space to install windows. I use Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2021 (supported till Jan 13, 2032). During the windows installation, pick custom, create a small partition (100 mb etc) then extend it to the full size of the remaining free space. This step is important since it forces windows to install to 1 partition and its boot files to the existing ESP partition making it much cleaner since you're installing windows after Linux.
If you want valorant, I think you would need to setup secureboot (sbctl) with Microsoft keys if you haven't already.
@finite turtle
okay but I can't do that.. HDD is always busy and cant ever be unmounted
