when shutting down sometimes i get this message:
a stop job is running for user auser (25s/1min 30)
when i checked logs with journalctl -b 1 -e after i turned it on again the only thing i found is attached as an image, idk all that much about my system except for the basic stuff so trying to get all the help i can get, no wiki page for it, i found a forum post for it but it's from 2012 so idk if it's still relevant.
#shutdown stalls for 90 secs

I could be going down the wrong track here, but can I ask what GPU you have
(and if it's nvidia, what package, and where you installed that package from)
Yeah it's nvidia ga170m (rtx 3060 mobile)
I'm using latest proprietary drivers from the official reposidk if it's from extras, and i updated the system about 1 or 2 days ago.
I think it's nvidia 550.67 from the extra repo
and have you tried enabling drm?
The watchdog isnt the problem of ur slow shutdown
With no bad intention, whats the matter of asking about his gpu?
when I've searched for the watchdog did not stop with iTCO_wdt it's one of the things that came up, I'll try and find the thread again
interestingly another 30 series card
Ah ok, but im almost completely sure its not problem of the watchdog, cause i got that message on every shutdown and it shutdowns normal
ah fair enough, any idea what it might be?
I think it could be some process started by auser
I would suggest try to search what process does the auser start in first place
just to reiterate, my first message, I was very unsure of myself anyway
That slow shutdown is caused by systemd itself, systemd tries to shutdown the system properly powering off all the processes before the shutdown
No worry, im not sure either about it, but i dont think its caused by the watchdog
ok thanks
@mortal ocean any fix? I have the same problem, I am on rtx 4060, proprrietary drivers.
