go install endeavourOS
for data backup, the thing you have is a fully functional bash terminal, you can use it to cp your stuff to a usb drive before reinstalling
okay, and any possibility to fix it right now?
As much as I hate manjaro I don’t think anyone, though especially a mod, should just tell people they should change OS
some stans really go too far
what kernel are you using? Did anything else update?
no, not during the last uptime
I mean I'd suggest you simply do a -Syu to update your system
kernel looks to be running fine, seems like an issue with whatever DE or WM you use
core.db failed to download
kernel is shown above but its
6.7.7-1-Manjaro
other kernels also don't seem to be working
I mean it doesn't look like a kernel issue...
try updating your mirrors and then try updating again
yeah the first thing I said was update your mirrors, I'm guessing you didn't do that, you also could tell us what DE or WM you use.
also just do a single y, you don't need to force a db update, if it's out of date it will up date, if it isn't it doesn't need to
oh and make sure you are connected to the internet if you haven't already
somehow i was logged out of my school wifi lol
i think at some point i installed gdm
i have Wayland and KDE
how do i get out of the window, i want the normal gui back
thanks for all the helpful commentary
well, it definitely looks like your entire driver set does not work, and the cause for that would be manjaro's broken update policy
I would recommend fleshing arch-iso onto a usb stick, connecting to the internet, mounting your filesystems, chrooting, and updating everything with pacman. SHOULD fix it
If you don't know how to, I can help
forget all of your replies and stand in awe of timeshift, the recovery tool
