However if I do sudo pacman -Syu it gives me error: failed to synchronise all databases (unable to lock database)

Do rm /etc/pacman.d/lck.db
No such file or directory
@amber field now try a -syu
@amber field reboot then try

Type reboot into the terminal

Was pacman previously working on the system?
Yes
chmod +x ./pacman-static
sudo ./pacman-static -Syu
Clean all occurrences of pacman from /usr/local/ find them with whereis pacman

On a steam deck pacman doesn’t work out of the box anymore
so what do I do?
try sudo rm -rf /var/lib/pacman/db.lck
I fixed it don't worry
