#Starlight 12 Clicking Not Responding
31 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
Installed via archinstall and for some reason plasma ignores my mouse inputs most of the time- using the proprietary nvidia drivers btw. On x11 plasma it ignores my mouse immediately and on wayland it takes a bit to do so
@halcyon flint wireless or bluetooth mouse?
Tried it in both wired* and bt mode
Also, Tried installing cinnamon to see if its just a kde problem and cinnamon accepts button inputs but the close tab buttons dont respond to a mouse either and must be alt f4'ed
@halcyon flint neofetch please
And the reason why I used archinstall over manual installation is cause I have manually installed on this system and it worked for weeks until yesterday in which the system stopped responding to mouse inputs out of nowhere. prompting me to wipe it and fresh install using archinstall only for the same problem to occur
Ok, so even more peculiar...
I just tried a different mouse in the house and seemingly works with no problem? Gonna keep doing some testing...
If I swap to my original mouse (a finalmouse starlight, wireless / wired) kde and similar act weird with mouse inputs, ignoring them most of the time.
If I swap to the other mouse (glorious mouse, wired only) it responds to all inputs
What would cause the finalmouse to suddenly not work right as a mouse anymore?
Did not seem to do anything
Applied the settings, rebooted and nothing changed... Any other ideas on how to fix the mouse not working?
Those permissions are seemingly only useful to the ultralight x, sorry that I did not clarify but I use the starlight 12 (pegasus)
@halcyon flint does it work in xfce?
Works fine in xfce seemingly
Whereas on cinnamon (wayland/x11) and kde (wayland/x11) the mouse just doesnt work right. And in lightdm the mouse works but not sddm too
cinnamon (software rendering) seems to work fine for some reason in comparison to its wayland and x11 counterparts
So yeah not sure whats up
@halcyon flint can you try the beta of kde
The beta? Sure gimme a quick sec..
Enabled KDE unstable in the pacman conf, rebooted, and loaded into x11 kde and... same thing
@halcyon flint you need to update inorder to use the beta
oopsies 1 min ill try yhat
ok so turns out xfce also has the same problem as plasma and cinnamon it just takes longer to achieve- found this out while trying to update plasma
@halcyon flint now are you on the beta of kde?
Itll respond for like 2 button presses and then stop working
