#issue when booting lubuntu

what file is that?
I think it's supposed to be an image
can't be too sure
See
okay, that's bad
failed on initramfs
did you check lubuntu's checksum
your ISO could be corrupted on download
I think the ISO is corrupted yeah or maybe something went wrong with balena etcher
which one did you get?
match your ISOs sha256 checksums with the one listed there (it's' in a link)
23.10: 0072ac362fef0aa2cc496f83389807cc86e9b5e1fa9fe4eaa7a3f728f6d59f2e
22.04.3: ffccfa53a10bacf0b8b7589e85c739e650aef8f38ac4ed66f96fd591396d2f21
Yeah I have done that
okay, and did it match?
It is matching
ah, so it's likely balena being the problem
No i tried with dd command too but same
hm...
no clue then try ventoy this time
If you boot the iso what kernel parameters are there? Like, what does grub show when you press edit?
Press the F2 key on the boot option, it will show all the options for the boot entry
Nothing is happening when pressing f2
When I have to press f2 or e
When clicking try lubuntu or install
When pressing e shows ths
Can you remove the "quiet" and the "splash" text and then press F10 ?
Quite/splash --- this whole
Or just quite/splash
Only the two words quiet and splash
Ok
Then it will do a verbose boot so we can see what's going wrong
Is this ok
Looks okay to me
F10
Yep!
Same
Hmmm okay I was hoping for a bit different output
Can you try booting a Linux Mint usb stick instead? Maybe the lubuntu iso's are broken somehow, quite unlikely.. But still
I have Fedora lxqt usb also
That would be good too
If you can boot that one just fine then it just seems the lubuntu iso is in bad shape
No I can't boot that one also
Nio
Fedora is booting
Earlier it wasn't
But now it stuck in this
Yeah just be patient, might take some minutes on a slower computer
The cursor is stucked here only
It's been 5 min
But same
What model cpu?
Intel core duo
Can I remove the usb now??
Yes
Yeah the hardware is really old and fedora isn't going to run on it (a recent fedora that is)
Maybe it's a good idea to try a linux distribution like peppermint 32 bit
You should be able to yeah
Will it run smooth
But don't install a DE like Gnome or KDE, just install lxqt or xfce4
Ehh, hard to say. The hardware is really old so I doubt its going to run better than a 32 bit peppermint install
Link
It has many download links can u send a specific one for me
Just pick a link from the list of countries that are closest to you (or the one you are in)
Not torrent one plz
Ok
But u said don't install gnome or kde they are one of them??
I am in India which file should I chose
They are many
Doesn't matter tho! You can pick any that's closest to you or the one you are in
Yeah I am in india
But in india there are many files
Like 4v1
garudalinux
And many
Which one should I

Shows
Ok it's downloading
Ok
This laptop os stops working now i will repair it I try to boot arch in my another laptop HP ProBook 605b
And it boots but showing
In 32 bits
I am not able to understand guide
What to do now
You have to read the guide step by step, it's quite a process 😅 It's not something I am willing to go through step by step. If you have specific questions I can answer those though! (Hopefully)
Ok my question is that
When I type up link it shows 3 option
But I am not able to understand how to connect
To the internet
Do you use wifi or cable? If you are using a cable it should be connected already, which you can test by typing ping archlinux.org
I use mobile hotspot
Then you need to use the iwctl command and the steps listed here: https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Iwd#Connect_to_a_network
I am not able to do
When I write any command from here it shows no station on device
That's because you need to change it
wlan0 is your device as it shows with the device list command
So to scan for networks station device scan would become station wlan0 scan
See I want to connect to one plus network it is showing invalid network name but its correct
If the name contains spaces you have to wrap it in quotes "
Yeah
I have some questions
So when I typed timedatectl it shows correct date but wrong time
17:29:30
And other that after check date and time I am not able to understand what to do in next step
Can u help
I don't mean to sound rude or harsh but I think a distribution like peppermint or lubuntu (if it ever will boot) might be best suited for you since they are more user friendly than Arch for beginners
Or maybe a 32bit version of q4os
I am downloading arch with arch install command but facing one issue
When New entering boot password and i enter it doesn't work
But my enter is ok
I have to install arch only bcz in this laptop date and time was wrong that's why I am installing new os and bcz of wrong date and time it is not able to access network
And like I said my other laptop with bodhi has some problem I have to reinstall bodhi iso
but I don't have any other laptop
So I have to boot arch
Please tell
Hmm okay, well setting time with the timedatectl command isn't hard though! You can do something like this: timedatectl set-time 14:30:05 Where time is just hours -> minutes -> seconds
Ok i will do this but can I install from archininstall command
I see many people doing with this
And i try also but stuck in at a point
.
I have no knowledge of the archinstall script because I have never used it
Ok
When I was installing from "archlinux" It shows proceed to installation i didn't press anything and in next line it shows retrieving packages then it was doing something then after it shows this error
What is this
Its related to the archinstall script which I know nothing about 😅
