until i reconnect headphones
and lets say the youtube video starts, when i pause the video for like 10 seconds, and play it again, it keeps buffering again until i reconnect the usb headphone
every single app is doing that, even spotify
Okay, and does it work perfectly on Windows or is it just on Linux you're having issues>
runs perfectly on windows
And I see you use pipewire too.
When this happens again, can you type lsusb and see if your headphones are showing up in the list within your terminal?
idk why its suddenly working
lemme try to recreate it again
@rustic swan this is what i see
it is showing up
device id 35 and 36
I helped someone with their sound issues like two days ago and their headphones came up as a medical device in lsusb XD
So it's showing up but no sound output right now?
oh i think theres a misunderstanding
ill screenrecord
the video starts when i reconnect the usb @rustic swan
Gunna try figure it out in the case of pipewire because the person I helped had issues with pulse. I'm pretty sure the fix would be different
when i use pulse it works fine but the audio quality is extremely bad
cracking sounds
static
etc etc
In the case of this person, they used usb headphones too.
And it was something to do with udev auto detection not working correctly, so they had to input something inside pulse config file
how do i do the equivalent on pipewire?
No idea. But the thing is, it might not even be the same fix for ya
oh
i forgot to mention
its not a usb headphone issue
i tried it with 3.5mm jack earphones and its the same case
Can you try seeing if pipewire is running?
systemctl --user status pipewire.service
active
Ahh, you have to use --user, and don't use sudo
done
systemctl restart pipewire.service --user
ran that
Check if the file exists again (probs won't)
yeah it doesnt exist
the whole directory doesnt exist
but youtube is working for some reason
so is spotify
With sound output?
yeah
(This might not matter, so don't focus too much on it)
can i ask you why arch linux is better than windows?
Just the amount of freedom you have with it, and the amount of choice.
If you want the equivalent of some things like a window manager on Windows for example, some of them are behind a paywall
i have just spent like 4+ days tryna get arch to work normally, seems like a hassle, could u tell me what kind of freedom i can enjoy? i donwloaded linux just to learn more abt this OS
It can be a hassle when things don't work. Some Linux users even enjoy it, because it's a new challenge to face.
You have an unlimited choice on compositors to choose from, different window system protocols, etc. Linux can enhance productivity for many people too because of how easy it is to install packages and get programming languages to work.
Like, on Windows you'll have to go onto a program's website, download the installer, go through the steps...
But Arch?
<Enter Password>```
**Boom**.
Plus we can customize our system however we want too
how can i completely disable my rtx 4060 so i can get maximum battery life out of this laptop?
Can you try recreating the issue if it's working right now, and can you try seeing if audio output works with your laptop speakers?
i am unable to recreate it anymore (sounds like a good thing)
maybe if i reboot it might stzrt that issue again
let me try
If there's still an issue, look at this.
(But it's for pipewire-pulse)

any idea on this? i searched alot but doesnt seem to help @rustic swan
No idea. I'm not going to give you advice on that because I might accidentally help you absolutely nuke your system
