Install rasdaemon from the aur for more information
Oh right it's the iso
My bad
You can prob install the package in the iso too tho
run 3-4 passes
Have you tried putting the memory stick into a different USB slot.
If so, and have any other memory sticks handy, have you tried using a different USB drive?
Corruption with the ISO could also be the case, so you may also try redownloading if that could help
And Windows has been running smoothly for all this time, no suspicious circumstances where it slows down, no blue screen of death, nothing. Your sure your system is healthy?
These errors you're getting are based on your CPU and not your RAM that people have been suggesting
Gosh very little info on this topic online, all of them refer to a hardware issue
How often does it pop up by the way? Is it constant to the point you can't type prompts into the terminal, or is it like every 10 seconds?
What motherboard do you use?
Have you ever updated the BIOS before?
So, head into Windows, you can update your BIOS from there. Give that an attempt.
I didn't know it was possible until rather recently when I myself came across a very weird circumstance where I couldn't use my other monitor. I'm not sure if updating the BIOS fixed it, but it's worth giving it a go.
Someone in this article had the same errors you're having and a BIOS update did the trick https://www.reddit.com/r/archlinux/comments/q3u476/mce_log_hw_errors_during_boot/
Yeah it's fucking scary. I was shaking during the whole process
You install an ASUS program that I think detects your Motherboard or some shit, I can't remember what I did
ASUS EZ Update provides an easy way to update your BIOS file to the latest version.
If you want to know more information about updating Motherboard BIOS, please refer to the below FAQ

God this is giving me war flashbacks
I'm preying for you. Because this is something probably WILL absolutely fry your system if done incorrectly XD
Nahh it'll go smoothly I'm sure
I am praying
...It worked?
I mean, the update, you didn't break shit?
Because reading this, my heart escaped my chest too holy fuck
I told you it was fucking scary, I was shaking and sweating. Terrifying
FUCK
Just to let you know, I'm not going to be active for two hours
@oblique oxide what iso are you using?
check the signature, could've gotten corrupted
from the torrent or dl?
verified it on the flashdrive? or iso? I suggest trying the flashdrive because I've had similar issues
im not sure exactly, ventoy gives me the option
I don't think so, mine broke because I unmounted it early
have you tried other iso's? like for other distros
@oblique oxide can you try non rufus to see if it's a rufus problem
try something that starts up the tty, gentoo iso is very light and does that (not telling you to install gentoo) I think crystal also does that but I'm not sure
then it's just a hardware issue
do you have the latest bios?
can you show every bios setting please
disable fast boot
killertofus received a thank you cookie!
@oblique oxide what de/wm are you going to pick?
wm = window manager ie i3
I wouldn't recommended using a wm for my first use of a wm in arch, I would recommended using a de to get to know arch a little bit better, then use a wm
@oblique oxide when you install we can get to that
yes, untill you get better hardware
I would recommended kde for a de
I have the samish BIOS as you. I remember when I first built my computer, the BIOS already had pre-configured overclocking or something. I remember booting into Windows for the first time and I thought I had fucked up building or something, damaged some hardware because my fans were insanely loud.
It could possibly be that your BIOS has pre-configured overclocking
yes, you can change de's at anytime

@oblique oxide if you want, I would recommended using the stock kernel
Maybe have a look at all the frequencies it's set to and compare them to the hardware you have and see if they are overvolted or undervolted. That's if you haven't already. God knows.
Let's hope Endeavour works without issues
@oblique oxide if you want
Gosh Endeavour is gorgeous.
Look at that UI
what lets you boot
GRUB is the bootloader, it makes a list show up when you boot up Linux and you select which OS you want to boot into
You can configure it to show your Endeavour and your Windows
(Oh I keep forgetting you're not dual booting)
If you're only running one OS, you're okay without GRUB. In fact, probably nicer because your system will boot up faster because GRUB has a 3 second timeout to allow user input
You can always install GRUB if you change your mind in the future too, so it doesn't matter whether you pick it or not

My God that's so pretty
You won't regret it
Welcome to Linux
you're welcome
Now just imagine if this was a Windows server
