i'm fucking fed up with my system right now. audio is broken, crackles and pops, my mic apparently is also cracking when i talk. i have a feeling that pipewire is at issue here. my cursor starts lagging around the screen once I open steam or another heavy app, i think this is due to no hardware cursor support on nvidia, and it should be fixed in plasma 6, but maybe someone knows about this. apex legends gives me random microstutters, despite applying fixes to it mentioned in several forums, and having it occasionally work. i just wanna get these things more or less fixed and set up a dual boot on a second partition on my other drive. i'll bounty 50 euros on this, to whoever helps me, if it ends up being even more work, i can up that too. i'm fucking done researching all this stuff. i'm having a shitty time lately and i can't deal with all these things simultaneously. so to whoever helps out, genuinely, thank u.

Arch Linux 6.6.10-zen
NVIDIA 3060
Intel i7-10700K
64GB RAM
500GB NVME (is mounted explicitly in fstab)
2TB SSD (linux is on here)
1TB HDD (Not used and broken)
Plasma 5.27.10 - KDE X11
I'm using easyeffects for some audio effects

Audio setup pictures are attached.

so this goes out to mainly anyone that knows sound architecture on linux and can help me find and understand a solution. i am not looking for "just do this so it works", but i want to learn the why too.

i might be in vc if you read this, don't hesitate to join.

all i can recommend is that you backup all the files and reinstall it

i've been fixing all my issues up until now this way, i don't see a reason to reinstall, because this is fixable one way or the other.

#

and who's gonna tell that it'll work after reinstalling? i've had these issues pretty much ever since i started using arch if i'm not wrong, they just start bugging me now

You're right I probably shouldn't have said anything.

I am on lqx now. Didn't change anything. Sometimes when I boot into the system, the sound is so messed up that it's literally unrecognizable and glitches throughout. Almost like a sample rate mismatch. When recording it, everything seems normal. Then when I reboot, it's most likely fixed until it randomly happens again. I dunno if showing pw-top helps at all, but i attached a video of it.

audio should just work. and troubleshooting should be easier.

it's that simple
