69 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
Did you launch i3-wm for the first time?
an error? What sort of error?
this one
Did that not ask you what you wanted your modifier key to be?
no clue
it simply asked me a yes/no question wich i do not recall what exactly said
but i recall the answer yas a obvious yes
and that error jumped
i do, i simply forgot
on the working desktop enviroment right?
in the i3-wm instance.
super+enter or super+t I THINK is the default terminal command
seems to not respond to any imppout
also, super means the windows key?
yes
now here seesm to be two terminals
since i've pressed it twice
You can close one with super+shift+q, I think.
indeed
in the other you can type cd ~/.config/i3 then ls
indeed
exactly
It should give something like this
same result
nano config
and now GNU nano 7.2 popped up
indeed
same result
btw, i'll have to do some stuff
any key detail before i go?
Well, this will be where you'll edit most of your hotkeys, which is important.
it'll ALSO be where you set what bar you want to use
perfect
i'll leave it there
and once i'm back, i'll work on that
thanks for the help
i got back!
@languid shoal is i3 your first wm?
yes indeed
via a VM
to learn the ropes of linux before using it
@languid shoal I would recommend awesome as "my first wm"
ok, i'm pack on the PC
as for now i had XFce booted up correctly
however, i wanted I3-WM
issue is that i had problems installing i
*it
... solved
