the screenshot just shows notification for updates
Yea Firefox couldn’t even update without permission even if it wanted to
previously there used to be checkbox to disable automatic installation of update..
The thing is, when i was using firefox i got a notfication that firefox update was succesfully installed
and just few seconds after that , firefox told me to restart firefox and webpages weren't loading
well, did you pacman -Syu?
or is your gui package manager frontend set to automatically update?
at the time when i got notification no update was running ...
no only hyprland and some minimial softwares
so i explicitly ran pacman
and there was update for firefox in pacman
Was it run in the last few minutes?
you installed firefox from the arch repo right?
no
yes
maybe it was false positive or some .. or a bug
you didn't sudo firefox did you?
Oh god I didn’t think of that
no not that noob, i launched using rofi
is there a way to verify
Is your WM being run as root?
no
then it doesn't make sense
firefox has no write perms to /usr since its run as user
Yea
it cannot update itself
.
