1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
why the method shows Automatic (DHCP)
I guess it should be Manual or Static.
a, i forgot to change it back to static. last time i set it to static it didnt give me internet at all
Not sure, but your router has static IP setting enabled right ?
yeah, i had a static ip before reinstall. but it doesnt work anymore for some reason, i did it the same way
it works perfectly fine in windows, idk why it doesnt work on arch
can you check your /etc/resolv.conf
shows up as null on router when i set it to manual
why both are different ?
hm?
this seems right.
it showed my computer name when it's on automatic
now it doesnt show up at all
i set it to manual and rebooted the pc and its gone, the desktop-... is a different pc
can you make sure you are putting everything rightly...
wdym?
The right gateway and stuff.
it is the right gateway, 192.168.0.1 is the router my pc is connected to, that 0.1 router is connected to another router but its ip is 192.168.1.1
can you ping ?
the 1.1 or 0.1?
anything.
yea
it's through the system with static ip ?
yea
then what's the issue ?
doesnt show up on the router and cant connect to the server from another network
strange. can you make sure there is no activated filter(showing DHCP devices only)
worked with windows ?
it shows its connected and doing stuff in the event log on the router, but doesnt show up when i click to import an ip for a port forward
firewall issue ?
dont think so, it's the same with firewall enabled and disabled
Systems firewall ?
yea
strange
very strange
im very confused on why its not working after a reinstall
idk what else to google to look into this issue
@tulip mortar i found there is an option on my router to reserve a dhcp ip for a specified pc. but now the port says its closed when i check it on the yougetsignal site it says its closed, ufw says its open tho
strange, maybe you can try disabling the firewall completely.
it somehow works now
idk how
idk why
only thing i did was enable minecraft in firewalld, reset iptables and uninstall ufw
