#Wayland sleep broken (GNOME and KDE)

graphics reset?
tho i still suspect it's an nvidia or kwin thing
kwin wayland (kde)
and mutter wayland (gnome) are vastly different things
gnome
unlike xorg, which is the display server
on wayland, each WM/DE/compositor is its own server implementation
so there's no one true wayland
you're back to x.org at that point
don't agree, not at all
out of the list, only three supports wayland
the rest don't have wayland sessions at all
KDE, GNOME, LXQt
LXQt is sort of just a coincidence since LXQt uses Kwin (KDE's compositor, which has wayland support)
gnome
uses mutter
Enlightenment, has its own wayland compositor, tho it's a very experimental and wip DE
it's not
which, there are many extensions, by different devs and teams
or is that not what you meant?
if so, you need to word your sentences better
gnomes
yes, with extension
- DING (Desktop Icons NG)
- Dash to panel
- arcmenu
yes, it is
how much 1st party browser extensions do you use?
why should gnome extensions be all first party then
that's not really a problem of 3rd parties
more like, the extension model of gnome, it's simply JS code injection
no APIs like browser extensions have
and not all extensions break on update
you can test this by disabling extension version validations in gnome
plus arch takes a long time to update gnome, enough time for extension devs to adjust
oh, yeah you can find the settings in dconf-editor
you know what else has been touched by microsoft hands, be it contributions or fundings
- Mesa drivers
- Linux kernel
great, you can use that on gnome
needs some setting up
slow in what, copying files?
probably something wrong with your install/config
fine on my side
nah, it has nvidia, automatically bad /j
but yeah, it's a fine PC
