#

i didnt remove it i would need to open the pc again

#

i feel like it wouldn't show up as arch if it was booting off of the dvd - but maybe something with the way arch treats it is brokeb

could you enter chroot and check lsblk -f?

shell citrus
#

how do i enter chroot

#

i never used it before

#

you need an arch bootable for that - do you have one?

#

no💀 i flashed openbsd to it

#

ok - maybe we can get into the root temporarily if we add single_init to the boot command?

#

how?

#

do you use grub?

#

no

#

what bootloader do you use?

#

systemd bootloader

#

idk what is called

#

systemd-boot

#

yes

#

i dont quite recall if we can change the arguments on the fly - one second

#

okay, so @shell citrus, you have the choosing entry menu on boot, right?

#

the one from the bootloader

#

yes

#

i took the sata out and it gives the same problem

#

huh

#

the sata as in the dvd drive?

#

yes

#

and its the exact same error too?

#

yes now i took both cables

#

still

#

fuck

#

i did change the cable placement of the boot drive

shell citrus
#

why would you do that nekoFine

#

well

#

because the other ports were to far for the dvd

#

i have no idea how to resolve this honestly nekoSad i feel like either the drive/boot order, the partitions, or maybe the fstab is messed up - genuinely no idea what could be the reason

#

im not even sure how arch is booting, honestly - maybe if you have /home on a whole separate drive that it now cannot find (or / entirely - i'm walking in the dark here - never had that happen)

#

well

#

i dont

#

im using btrfs on my boot drive witht the default partitioning

#

if you could get your hands on an arch bootable and get into chroot, it would be much, much easier to figure out what's going on

#

fucking worked

#

what worked

#

i put the boot drive sata cable in the same place as before

#

and it booted

#

who would've thought

#

fr

#

its strange tho

#

i thought the pc should know where to boot

#

im not SURE if that's the case, but i feel like the cables are how your pc knows where to boot - i might be terribly wrong

#

im gona try again with other sata

#

well now i dont have display💀

#

its just a fucking DVD drive💀

#

do you need the dvd drive that badly harold1

#

YES

#

FUCKING YES

#

it worked

#

i now have a fucking DVD r/w

#
