Please follow the Standard Litany when asking a question:
What was your environment? What was your operating system, configuration?
What did you do? What did you run or test? Where?
What actually happened? What were the exact results, complete log contents, exact error messages?
What did you expect? What were you aiming to achieve? What result were you looking for?

Vague or superficial questions will yield vague or superficial answers. False information leads to false solutions.

if needed i can translate

#

before that i had just rebooted after (i think) installing

#

before, when i did ip link, it showed wlan0

#

now its "wlp1s0"

#

i didnt mess around with the mirrors i think

#

im trying to install xorg to use arch

merry bison
#

You're not connected to the internet...

prisma tusk
#

i did connect before, though?

merry bison
#

When?

prisma tusk
#

when i put the usb driver in

merry bison
#

That's in the iso.

prisma tusk
#

first thing i did was set wifi

#

oh

merry bison
#

Now you're in your installation

#

Did you install a network manager?

prisma tusk
#

probably not

#

how can i check

merry bison
#

When you ran pacstrap, did you install a network manager?

#

Or with pacman in chroot

prisma tusk
#

i dont remember, what i do know of doing is the whole iplink, station etc

#

station set wlan0 iirc

merry bison
#

Post the output of pacman -Q | grep networkmanager

#

So you did install a network manager

#

Do nmtui and connect to your wifi

prisma tusk
#

also i noticed that my keyboard somehow returned to the default

digital dove
#

Can you show systemctl status NetworkManager?

#

if nmtui doesn't work

merry bison
#

Ah yeah enable it as well if you haven't

prisma tusk
merry bison
#

Ok now do ping -c 5 archlinux.org

#

Alright

digital dove
#

Also, you don't need to install the xorg package group in most cases

#

any DE or WM you install should pull what it needs

prisma tusk
#

uhum

digital dove
#

if that was what you were doing earlier

prisma tusk
#

i was installing xorg yeah

#

thanks guys

#

you were of great help :)
