Cant boot into any WM

I have KDE Plasma installed and working but wanted to try a WM so I installed qtile and tried to launch into it from sddm, where I ran into the issue where the dock was appearing on top of my sddm menu and the sddm menu itself didnt disappear and from which point my PC would basically freeze, after that I uninstalled qtile and tried the same with bspwm and I had the same results, except that this time the dock wouldnt even show and my PC would just freeze
Im a total linux noob so might be that I forgot some essential step please bare with me

The menu and dock issue might be just that the wallpaper is not set.

try some mod + r to run a launcher and change some wallpaper.

but if the wallpaper wasnt set wouldnt i atleast get a blackscreen? for me my sddm menu just freezes and stays

I don't know about bspwm. But in Qtile it shows the sddm menu.
