1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
edit its .desktop and change name= line
idk look up where xfce shortcuts are stored ig
i don't know what you're saying
'where xfce stores desktop shortcuts'
try /usr/share/applications then
or Desktop
add quotes around desktop and don't use google
common google L
why not
it works with ddg
DuckDuckGo. Privacy, Simplified.
yes but you’ll probably get the path of the application file in that thread
it’s probably just ~/Desktop though
Too few arguments for command note!
Usage: .note <name>
you want to rename the trash:// in thunar?
i understood you wanted to rename it on the desktop
so why is my information not relevant
did you try what i said
ill try and see
but its prolly under /usr/share/applications or .local/share/applications
hmn
lets see
??
same process
@tight bough find ~ -name \*.desktop || find /usr -name \*.desktop
probably po/en.po and /usr/share/locale/en/LC_MESSAGES/Thunar.mo
you need to recompile
why do you even want to rename the trash
what about changing /usr/share/locale/en/LC_MESSAGES/Thunar.mo
it will change on desktop
but it needs to be the exact same number of bits
also will be overwriten on updates
just add spaces
oh
well you need to compile with the correct string then
it’s weird cause i can’t even find po/en.po
oh wait
you can just patch manually the source code
then just compile
it’s easy
there is still a chance that it’s an application file and i am overly complicating things though
does this work echo -e 'msgid "Recycle Bin"\nmsgstr "Trash"' | msgfmt -o - - | sudo tee /usr/share/locale/en/LC_MESSAGES/nemo.mo >/dev/null
if not, what is in your /usr/share/locale/en/LC_MESSAGES/
actually don’t run this before showing the content of the folder
you can also try org.gnome.nautilus.desktop trash-icon-name 'Recycle Bin'
in dconf-editor
@tight bough
huh
what is your locale
??
here, you can follow this tutorial https://askubuntu.com/questions/240431/is-there-a-way-i-can-rename-trash-to-crap

ru french?
