.aw network configuration
Can you post the contents of your /etc/resolv.conf?
It's the default one, everything commented out except [Resolve]
Oh wait, no, that's /etc/systemd/resolved.conf
resolv.conf says nameserver 192.168.0.1
ip a | curl -F 'f:1=<-' -H 'Host: ix.io' 66.172.11.73
I also tried 127.0.0.53, 1.1.1.1, 1.0.0.1, and 8.8.8.8
I'm not at my computer rn, I can try this in ~1h
@acoustic pagoda empty reply from server
No wait, I did it again and it was fine
What do I do next?
.Can you post the result of the previous command?
Nothing comes out
What is the output of
ip a
Sorry bad quality, I can't copy paste because.. well, no internet
ip route show default
Default via 10.0.0.1 Dev wlan0 Proto DHCP SRC 10.0.0.63 metric 600
What now?
- side note: You may consider masking the IPv6 address in the output in the future, as these are public addresses.
readlink /etc/resolv.conf
No output
Unless you are behind another router, the name server 192.168.0.1 is not correct.
Oh
ping -c4 192.168.0.1
You may want to consider using systemd-resolved, as it will automatically deduce the appropriate DNS server to use. Addtionaly, it will cache the lookup results to speed up the process.
I am using systemd-resolved
readlink output disagrees with this statement
ln -rsf /run/systemd/resolve/stub-resolv.conf /etc/resolv.conf
Ok, done
Please post the output from
resolvectl query one.one.one.one
one.one.one.one: resolve call failed: lookup failed due to system error: connection refused
resolvectl dns
Global: 192.168.0.1 ::1
Link 2 (enp2s0):
Link 3 (wlan0):
Link 4 (ipv6leakintrf0): ::1
Link 5 (virbr1):
What now?
What network manager do you use?
NetworkManager.service
nmcli connection show --active
Please also post the contents of your /etc/systemd/resolved.conf file.
It's the default one, everything commented out except [Resolve]
I have my wifi and pvpn-ipv6leak-protection
Please post the output
Please run the following command to find out if you have manually set the DNS server in the Network Manager connection file by running
nmcli connection show <name of the connection from the previous output>.
If so, please clear the ipv4.dns field and set ipv4.method to manual.
If there is no suspicious configuration, please try the following command
resolvectl dns wlan0 1.1.1.1
And test your DNS again
AFK, Out.
@acoustic pagoda sorry, I know you just said you were afk, but that still didn't work. I replaced the DNS in my main connection and it's not working
systemctl status systemd-resolved
See if it's active
@acoustic pagoda so I just got flustered and decided to reinstall, but now audio is only working on my headset and not on my speakers. I'm using pulse audio, what should I do?
@acoustic pagoda help I got it working a bit, but I can't change the volume, but now it's not working at all again
Never mind I just installed pipe wire
