Hey there!
So, I play dead by daylight on my (Arch) machine, and it works pretty well; but I'm having the oddly specific issue that many sounds completely cease to occur if I'm not looking in the in game direction of the source (i.e. I look slightly away from a generator right next to me and it goes completely silent)

I hate to come in here with such a vague problem, but noone on proton.db seemed to share the issue, I've tried switching proton versions and even modifying the game's config to increase the audio quality, but the problem persists. Any help is appreciated, thank you so much!

hey, are you using any launch options?

noble terrace
#

not currently, no

#

is there one I should be using?

spice bloom
#

no, i just remeber that i used to have an issue with sound with a specific launch option. noto on dbd tho

#

what audio driver are you using?

noble terrace
#

this may make me sound stupid, but I thought pulse was my driver

#

or is it something else?

spice bloom
#

make sure it pulseaudio

#

try export SDL_AUDIODRIVER=pulseaudio in the terminal

#

seems to work for some people in SUSE 👀

cool, I'll give it a shot!

#

no dice :(

#

the issue persists

#

if it helps, the dependancies installed are lib32, and my machine is x86

#

though I don't think that should matter in this case

#
