Can you run the following commands and post the output?
sudo pacman -S --needed --noconfirm glxinfo
env __NV_PRIME_RENDER_OFFLOAD=1 __GLX_VENDOR_LIBRARY_NAME=nvidia __VK_LAYER_NV_optimus=NVIDIA_only glxinfo -B
Then it apears to me that your dGPU is working as intended.
it doesnt feel it
i cant record
and do stuff i would be able with a rtx 3050
You have an Optimus laptop, which means you can offload arbitrary rendering tasks to the dGPU with the following environment variable
env __NV_PRIME_RENDER_OFFLOAD=1 __GLX_VENDOR_LIBRARY_NAME=nvidia __VK_LAYER_NV_optimus=NVIDIA_only VK_DRIVER_FILES=/usr/share/vulkan/icd.d/nvidia_icd.json <command>
That's another problem.
well i can but fps drops like mad
and when recording my pc lags
You can use the nvidia-smi command to check if the process is actually using your NVIDIA GPU.
how can i make by default use my gpu?
Please read https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/NVIDIA_Optimus carefully and follow the instructions there.
However, as the RTX 3050 has a rather small amount of VRAM (4GB), I would advise against it, and use render offloading instead.
it loads everythgung on the cpu
arch wiki is way to confusing
Please be patient and read them through, especially https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/NVIDIA_Optimus#Use_NVIDIA_graphics_only
done
one more thing
everything is way more zoomed in now
how can i fix it?
I assume it's not fractional scaling? what is the native resolution of your display?
4k
but it doesnt support 60 fps
What is the output of
xrandr
dont have it installed
nor can i find the cmd to install it
FOUND IT
sos caps
fixed 1 issue i just to fix the scaling
@full elm?
i kind of fixed it
1 more problem
folder size
Please explain
nvm
everything is so big
like
before i did the geforce thing
eveything way way smaller
and no on the smallest thing
display
its big
I marvel at the majestic melodies of the splendidly incoherent, subliminal way that you speak.
folder size
If you mean the size of the desktop icon, not the size of the folder on the file system
am so confused
its on applications as well
So do I when you speak
so let me it in professional
when i did the gpu thing and rebooted it caused everything to be massive
and here loot my kitty ( terminal )
do you see how big the application is
Is the resolution correct? This looks like a scaling (DPI) problem.
its 1920x1080
Your native display resolution is 4k
my hdmi doesnt support 4k 60fps
@full elm ?
What's your scaling setting?
Have you tried using envy control? and optimus-manager? that might configure the nvidia card way better than you manual can for the time being.
100
how can i install it?
optimus-manager btw

Here, Sorry for the delay
