yes
reasons:
manjaro is generally bad and a lot of issues are probably manjaros fault
most manjaro users just use linux for bragging rights /hj
manjaro sucks
.s manjaro
how about also removing kali linux too if the user used it in a way kali was not designed for? like, they use it like if it were debian and for gaming instead for what it was actually intended for.
Manjaro offered a pre-built Arch Linux experience (likely because this was absent for its time) with the usual "works with gaming" and other common applications. The second link from hadet.dev even mentions "It attempts to cater to the the same demographic of users as Mint".
I don't think banning Manjaro is enough. Attention needs to be redirected elsewhere to something that can do roughly what Manjaro claims it can do. There are also so many guides that recommend it uncritically in the same way that one would recommend installing Ubuntu.
This highlights the failures of Arch Linux to offer a coherent and well-built experience even as "build the system yourself" is the dominant ideology, otherwise a disaster like Manjaro likely wouldn't have happened. I think there should be a common basis or specification for Arch Linux builds that isn't just a hellish experience through the wiki which is built of isolated pages per topic which sometimes omits concerns of the overall system.
Endeavour OS sounds good but it doesn't have the same appeal as mentioned. It even says "A terminal-centric distro" on its front page. It just sounds like it's another tweaker or ricing operating system but a bit more friendly than plain Arch.
Things are different today than they were a decade ago. This is a good thing but I don't think the opportunity has been seized.
Ban Manjaro, but not thinking through the hard problem makes it worse and inexcusable.
sounds like AI generated
Oh fuck off
I can write shit unlike you or many others
/j
lmao
I can write essays fine, no AI
oh wait you didnt even claim its ai generated technically you just said it soudns like ai
lmao
Yes
anyways, ban memejaro
aur crying on the right corner
Entirely because I decided to break apart my wall of text by pressing enter on my keyboard a few times. Absolute idiocy in this server, no wonder people are fumbling around thinking bans are solutions to things.
Use antergos
imagnie thinking everyone is an idiot lol
Is this just a shitpost?
I'll say what I say in #tech-general , if people know the issues with manjaro, or simply aren't interested in hearing the negatives, and still choose to use manjaro, then that is their perogative, and as long as they use the correct tags in #1006743093120352338 as outlined by #readme-support-access then there really isn't a problem with them asking for help
manjaro does have a tag, it's the other distros tag
it shares it with any operating system that isn't vanilla arch
what is the argument for manjaro having its own tag?
those aren't argument for manjaro having it's own tag, every distro has it's own little issues and bugs, garuda could equally be said to need it's own tag by this logic.
they use it like if it were debian
isnt it just debian with pre-installed packages
right. but it was designed to aim to a particular userbase and purpose.
based
best idea ever
must remove manjaro
