[SOLVED] Can't seem to open Gnome Settings, or Gnome Extensions. | Arch Linux Community | Page 1

I recently installed Gnome, so far it's absolutely gorgeous, but I'm having difficulty customising it, since some of the programs are not working.
I installed Gnome through pacman, accepted all defaults, and installed gnome-extra.
Updated my system, tried reinstalling gnome-control-center and to no avail, it still won't open. What am I missing?

When I try opening Settings for example, the program does not show up at all within the desktop area, but Settings does appear next to "Activities" at the very top of the screen and appears to be loading. However stops loading and disappears after a few seconds.

I start it, and it just starts, works the same way as VSCodium, starts with no visible output

Yep, I did that at the very beginning. This is not a clean install, I have been using Hyprland before without any issues, and KDE runs smoothly

So there's a fair few error messages. The stack trace occurs from just launching the search, and not Settings. Something about not being able to add PIDs to scope's control group?

Gnome search, when you click on activities and search for an app for example. Search works fine, it just provides error messages within journalctl

Yeah it must've. Like it says it's opening in journalctl, and that's the only indication you have for ages, before you I get loads of stack traces

Then sometimes it states that the application failed to start

You cannot launch most applications from the GNOME shell, e.g. by clicking the application launcher icon.
However, they can be started from terminal

Starting from terminal, absolutely nothing happens, not even indication via journal-ctl.
I type it in, no output occurs in terminal at all, not a single error

Did some research, and someone in a forum stated that installing gnome-online-accounts-git from the AUR solved the crashing issue, so I'm going to try that

You may have set this variable from the login shell profile or systemd configuration file, such as /etc/environment.

You may want to consider removing XDG_CURRENT_DESKTOP=sway, GNOME is known to not play nice with mismatched XDG_CURRENT_DESKTOP.
