this is the error
no idea, I havent ever had issues with this
did you read the archwiki page for pipewire
It didn't work
This is the message I get when I do `ps ax | grep pipewire 707 ? S<sl 0:07 /usr/bin/pipewire 727 ? S<sl 0:11 /usr/bin/pipewire-pulse 80956 pts/3 S+ 0:00 grep --color=auto pipewire
But I can't hear shit
do pactl info
okay
connection failure connection refused
no problem
right now only the color process is working
ok how do you get this error in the first place
is it like the systemctl status pipewire or something
i dont even know. I was trying to play the audio on my hyprland, and it showed no output device
i thought something was off with pipewire, so tried starting it using systemctl
okay
unit could not be found
how did you install pipewire
sudo pacman -S pipewire
install these ones as well
pipewire-alsa pipewire-jack pipewire-pulse
previously I installed it while installing arch, but uninstalled that version with -Rnc
okay
then
sudo systemctl --user enable pipewire.service
sudo systemctl --user enable pipewire-pulse.service
then reboot
could not do enable pipewire.service no medium found
failed to connect to bus
you rebooted right?
hmm nvm
you havent done that
since you cannot enable it
thats odd
try sudo systemctl status pipewire.service
and send the output
hopefully it sees it
okay
how tf
try sudo systemctl --user status pipewire
let me do this
Failed to connect to bus: No medium found
alright the bus must be having an issue
sudo systemctl status dbus
see what that outputs

what does that mean
What to do here
I didn't even make the partitions. I just let the archinstaller do all the stuff, cause my previous arch install had messed up with hyprland somehow
you didnt install arch manually?
No, cause I had already wasted like 5 hours installing it and making gnome run
but then decided to install hyprland instead and here I am 24 hours later
I am saying all that stuff to not feel the embarassment of using arch installer
@shut nest any way to solve this or should I just install arch all over again?
Idk sorry
[SOlved]Pipewire help
oh you fixed it?
Kind of
I got everything running, but it still shows no output device
When I do inixi -xxz --audio it shows that everything is fine and running PipeWire v: 0.3.71 status: active with: 1: pipewire-media-session status: active 2: pipewire-alsa type: plugin 3: pw-jack type: plugin Server-3: PulseAudio v: 16.1 status: active
but pavucontrol shows no output device and only dummy
trying to see what's wrong
let's fucking go
fixed it. I don't know why, but it didn't come with the required firmware, and all I had to was install them
damn
nice
lets go
anyways
firmware of your audio drivers? my pipewire keeps cutting off and dying on me, odds are I may have a similar issue D:
