umbral summit
#

i thought something was off with pipewire, so tried starting it using systemctl

shut nest
#

do sudo systemctl status pipewire

#

and send the output

umbral summit
#

okay

umbral summit
shut nest
#

how did you install pipewire

umbral summit
shut nest
#

install these ones as well
pipewire-alsa pipewire-jack pipewire-pulse

umbral summit
#

previously I installed it while installing arch, but uninstalled that version with -Rnc

#

okay

shut nest
#

then
sudo systemctl --user enable pipewire.service
sudo systemctl --user enable pipewire-pulse.service

#

then reboot

umbral summit
#

failed to connect to bus

shut nest
#

you rebooted right?

#

hmm nvm

#

you havent done that

#

since you cannot enable it

#

thats odd

#

try sudo systemctl status pipewire.service

#

and send the output

#

hopefully it sees it

umbral summit
#

okay

umbral summit
#

damn

shut nest
#

umbral summit
#

#

imma clone the repo and make it that way

shut nest
#

try sudo systemctl --user status pipewire

umbral summit
#

ah I don't think I can do that

#

umbral summit
#

Failed to connect to bus: No medium found

shut nest
#

alright the bus must be having an issue

#

#

what does that mean

shut nest
#

the dbus looked to be fucked

#

i think

umbral summit
#

What to do here

#

I didn't even make the partitions. I just let the archinstaller do all the stuff, cause my previous arch install had messed up with hyprland somehow

shut nest
#

you didnt install arch manually?

umbral summit
#

No, cause I had already wasted like 5 hours installing it and making gnome run

#

but then decided to install hyprland instead and here I am 24 hours later

#

I am saying all that stuff to not feel the embarassment of using arch installer

#

@shut nest any way to solve this or should I just install arch all over again?

shut nest
#

Idk sorry

[SOlved]Pipewire help

shut nest
#

oh you fixed it?

umbral summit
#

I got everything running, but it still shows no output device

#

When I do inixi -xxz --audio it shows that everything is fine and running PipeWire v: 0.3.71 status: active with: 1: pipewire-media-session status: active 2: pipewire-alsa type: plugin 3: pw-jack type: plugin Server-3: PulseAudio v: 16.1 status: active

but pavucontrol shows no output device and only dummy

#

trying to see what's wrong

#

let's fucking go

#

fixed it. I don't know why, but it didn't come with the required firmware, and all I had to was install them

#

damn

#

nice

#

lets go

#

anyways
