#

Are you using a separate EFI partition for Arch?

glad egret
#

no

#

i'm using my default efi partition

#

nvme0n1p1 for me

#

didn't work

soft bone
#

is /boot a separate partition on arch for you?

glad egret
#

i can't boot arch

glad egret
#

it's the same partition as the other os

#

no

soft bone
#

You can try mounting arch's root partition somewhere before generating the config

glad egret
#

what

#

there's absolutely no way i didn't install it properly

soft bone
#

Why would they be able to boot arch without a bootloader?

glad egret
#

maybe my arch grub didn't install properly?

soft bone
#

How about you show us lsblk -f so we can get a better idea of you're partition scheme

#

p8 is supposed to be arch.

#

p3 is windows

soft bone
#

Try mounting arch's partition somewhere and then doing this again

glad egret
#

so mount /dev/nvme0n1p8

#

?

#

i'm on mint right now

soft bone
#

you need a mountpoint such as /mnt

glad egret
#

alr

#

i think it found it

#

the terminal mentioned arch briefly

#

@soft bone do i need to unmount it?

soft bone
#

you shouldn't need to

late hedge
#

That’s a wrapper for the next command you gave, it isn’t installed by most people on arch, I think it comes with Ubuntu?

late hedge
#

Ahh fair enough

#

That’s bad advice

late hedge
# glad egret i always have bad luck with arch

Your choice, but I would consider simply wiping the boot partition, and then install grub again, reinstall the kernel, and do whatever the equivalent of the same for mint is for mkinitcpio, make sure for both the boot partition is mounted within the chroot.
Then do a grub mkconfig from which ever one you installed grub on

#

Possible, but it shouldn’t be easily given advice

glad egret
#

i did everything correctly

#

no errors

#

all hope is lost for my computer and arch to be honest

#

they're just not compatible with eachother

#

tried installing 4 times

glad egret
#

@late hedge wait

#

can your arch

#

not boot because of fonts

#

i had a font warning when doing mkini
