Hello

I'm have an Arch installation that's 5 months out of date, and I'm trying to update it. It didn't work out, and I now have a partial update that broke pacman, so I'm trying to update it with my other computer. I mounted all the stuff it says to in the wiki and tried using --sysroot, but for some reason it says error: failed retrieving file 'core.db' from mirrors.kernel.org : Could not resolve host: mirrors.kernel.org, and I'm very confused... am I missing something? Or is there a better method?

Using an iso on a usb would be much easier

#

You chroot from it and then update

#

Also this error means your mirrors are out of date or your connection isn't working

#

So you would need to update them using a tool like reflector

if that fails its a problem with your connection

#

also yeah i feel like thisd be easier with the install iso on a usb because that has network packages configured

Same issue when I was running the drive on its host system
