wont let me ttf
just mount your install, mount the bootmgr, and chroot
show the error
you mean you can't boot?
can you TTY?
no
do you know how to TTY?
tty*
yes
okay, do you have an ISO you want to use?
I assume endeavour can do it, I know arch iso can
sorry wait
ok im in my oc now
EndeavourOS can chroot too
They have a guide for that.
yea it didnt really help
thus me asking the community
You need an usb with EndeavourOS and boot into the iso
i have a usb with eos
It will load xfce desktop and from there run terminal and begin chroot
https://discovery.endeavouros.com/system-rescue/arch-chroot/2022/12/
Arch-chroot - endeavouros – Discovery
i dokt know how to chroot
mount /dev/<partition1> /mnt
mount /dev/<partition2> /mnt/boot OR /mnt/boot/efi
arch-chroot /mnt
pacman -S linux-headers
I assume is all you need to do, partition1 being your install, partition2 being your bootmanager
oh, nice, thanks @neon dragon
✙ Koizumi✦ 🌙 received a thank you cookie!
uh
tty loads now
weird
💀
I love the EndeavourOS team. They are awesome at fixing things
ill just install linux headers thorough there
Anyways, once you chroot you can fix your issue
i’ve heard good things about them as well
at some point learn how to chroot as you'll likely need to in the future for fixing something that goes wrong
They fixed the grub issue on August that broke several Installations
maybe when i get on vanilla arch
For now use EndeavourOS chroot guide
Also share your lsblk
that was easy to fix anyway, reinstall grub, remake the grub config, boot up like before
We don't know if you use BTRFS or encryption
Also lvm
Chroot depends of your drive layout
im gonna archive this now
The point is that EndeavourOS team rocks as they make things ez and fix things for users.
thank you for helping out
Is your isue fixed?
wait
oh
it wasnt nvidia linux-headers that broke it
its light display manager
💀
How do you know
log
If you don't now your partition scheme well you can use mount -a from within chroot to automatically mount according to the fstab
let me send screenshot
Can you access a TTY with ctrl + alt + F[2-6]?
You need to run systemctl status lightdm
have you got a greeter installed?
You installed EndeavourOS with xfce?
meh, too many chefs, I'll leave this to lune and derp and unfollow 🙂
I would assume that EndeavourOS would have installed one lol
Did your GUI ever work?
It does. If the user installs EndeavourOS xfce, it will install lightdm
If you go with plasma it will set sddm
And so on
luckily
i have a wm
startx
im in
but its poorly configured
but theres so much problems
my monitor blinks alot now
Did you try installing linux-headers?
And this started when you installed the NVIDIA drivers?
the thing is i also want gnome installed
yes
but i feel like it isnt nividia
bc it was doing this when i booted into live ISO
strange
