I use Neovim, however because of libguestfs Vim is also installed as a dependency. Does anyone know why this occurs, or how could I get around that and uninstall Vim without breaking libguestfs?

It's not an optional dependency so why risk breaking the other package

It seems to directly require vim, so there's probably no way to get rid of it

#

you could try getting xxd-standalone from the AUR, but that might not work

@plucky canopy it seems that libguestfs only wants you to install vim for when you want to control it with ocaml
should be safe to get rid of it

#

pacman -Rnsdd vim

#

it might be reinstalled if you update libguestfs, but i'm sure theres some sorta package blacklist you can make

#

idk

so yes, you can remove it, but you might need it again if you use the rescue shell
