ive had manjaro and pop os and this wasnt a problem on those distro's

I already shared to official guide. And well.. Garuda is weird. That's why I just recommend using vanilla arch

To enable multilib repository, uncomment the [multilib] section in /etc/pacman.conf

i can get to the config but when i try to edit it it tells me that i need root access

so do i open it in terminal

Ofc you need to be root to edit pacman config

sudo vim /etc/pacman.conf
