Please follow the Standard Litany when asking a question:
• What was your environment? What was your operating system, configuration?
• What did you do? What did you run or test? Where?
• What actually happened? What were the exact results, complete log contents, exact error messages?
• What did you expect? What were you aiming to achieve? What result were you looking for?
Vague or superficial questions will yield vague or superficial answers. False information leads to false solutions.
.aw gparted
.aw cfdisk
.aw dd
you could try a low level format, zero-ing it
but that will take several hours
.aw Memory cell clearing
.aw securely wipe disk
be warned as this is extremely dangerous, as based on the wiki.
It could damage the ssd
What they call this problem btw
Locked partitions ?
idk, but that's what the wiki has about
you may wait for someone else that knows more. yet read what I've found so far.
Well. Thanks
tho archwiki tells how to nuke the SSD, it does warns about the risks
you may send your lsblk and gparted shots
my bad. tell that to @plucky breach
i even tried dd but nothing happened
oh something happened alright
you wasted some of your ssd's lifetime
it wasted some of my lifetime too
why its bad ?
.
ssd's have limited writes
tho it may be large
but youre still wasting it by zeroing
it's better to just discard the data instead
with blkdiscard
or a secure erase if your ssd supports it
It's frozen
yes
oh
@wheat lodge I found this tool linked on the wiki
The OP is using the a t460
What do you think?
They can use to do a secure erase
gparted tool on live usb
