#lgbtq channel rework

what kind of boundaries?
what is allowed and not allowed?
elaborate?
If I understood them correctly, they just want guidelines for what is allowed and what isn't in #lgbtq
yes but what
#info-rules would be the place to start, I'm not sure what isn't clear from reading that
because the thing about lgbtq that is kind of conflicting is that
i mean, you have a point in a way
we have a no nsfw rule, but what do we define that as?
the lgbtq channel is used to talk about sexuality sometimes but not really in depth enough to be NSFW
its an LGBTQ channel, not a roleplay channel
or references
the roleplay going on in #lgbtq is pretty suggestive in my opinion but no matter how you frame it, it is not the channels purpose
its gotta calm down or the moderators gonna burn it down and its gonna be an LGB-BBQ channel 😂 💀
ba-dum tsh
ive never seen the roleplay in the channel
i've seen enough kissing and hugs for a lifetime already 💀
same bro
brb my leg is fucking killing me rn\
lmao
ok back
Part of the issue is I'm the gay mod but have been less and less active as of late
And vegan is a straighto so doesn't look at the channel
I have told people off in that channel a lot and wish people would not be nsfw
100% the above
Though another part of the problem I think is people don’t get the mods involved for things when they should, what changed yesterday was someone alerted us to a situation which happened to cover several issues, and lead to a lot of action
we can't moderate what we don't see, we don't see all messages, if people don't bring our attention to inappropriate messages in the server, we can't act upon them
we have several very opnely lgbtq+ mods, unfortunately real life sometimes gets in the way
thats true
What situation
Related to the behaviour here, obviously, but I'm not going to go into detail on what a private ticket to the mods contained, the situation is at present resolved, I merely hope to keep it that way 🙂
you asked a question, I responded, I'm not mad (:
Oh; it was tonal I guess
not sure what you mean by that, but tone isn't always easy to read on the internet, I'm frequently told I'm angry, mad etc. for voicing disagreement with people, but I rarely am in an enraged emotional state
Doesn’t help that I’m on the spectrum and we are an ocean away
So tone in text comes off differently
I'm pretty certain I'm autistic (hate the phrase 'on the spectrum'), you might like the big pin I put in #off-topic
Not gonna grasp at straws over verbiage
I don't know what this means
Like I’m not going to argue over what terms people use to describe themselves; don’t be imperialist over other peoples terms and use the most accepted ones when talking in general🤷♀️
okay this is going off topic fast, if you want to talk about why it's important to try and avoid over-pathologising things like being autistic feel free to tag me in #off-topic or #controversial-archive 🙂
Over-pathologising; currently the only autistic people in concern are the living ones
I pinged you in off topic
me neither
and I'm very active
i think that we should more require verification or something to chat in LGBTQ channel to prevent trolls
maybe like a 30 min time to start chatting in there, or have special mod appointed members and mods verify people would be the better but more complicated option
Also off-topic and lgbt are sometimes unrecognisable
