well basically the title. Im running arch linux and recently, when I connected a hard drive to my pc and mounted it, once I shut of my pc and booted it up the grub boot option wasnt there. Im thinking its because the boot got messed up by the hard-drive rearranging the partitions.

TL;DR: Grub boot option disappeared after mounting an external hard-drive.

do you mean grub isn't coming up at all, or that grub isn't giving you the option to boot into one or more of the boot options it should be giving you?
Does the external drive itself have an OS installed on it?
