#Speaker audio not working

My audio on my build in speakers is not working. If i use headphones it works just fine.
I am using pulse audio and the bar that shows the audio output behaves just like with headphones.
"speakertest" gives a normal output but no sound plays.

This is the output of "asoundconf list":
Names of available sound cards:
sofessx8336

and i did "asoundconf set-default-card sofessx8336"
i also made sure that nothing was muted in alsamixer.

Im just cunfused and glad for any help.

If you're using pulse I don't think you'd be using alsamixer. Maybe pulsemixer or the pavucontrol GUI program.

To clarify I think pulseaudio works atop ALSA (or can) but the pulse-specific software is what you use to manage it.

I do use pavucontrol and everything seems to be perfectly normal but i just get no sound.
