so long story short, i have been off linux for a very long time, most of what i know is just surface info, and ive regressed on that front and im a little embarrassed by it.

my purchase of a steam deck has catapulted me into a new and unfamiliar flavor of linux, and i was unprepared for how different it feels, but i feel if i can manage with some assistance.

im a little slow and have a difficult time putting things into words, and sometimes making sense of things

long story short, i am rusty and unfamiliar with arch and was trying to install the ModLoader64 arch Version

its an emulator with online functions and mods

i ran into some issues that are probably very easy to fix and i am just not seeing them.

so this leads to the issues i am having, i am trying to install the prerequisites and the actual program

the prerequisites are: npm and git and curl ?., i had no idea if they were installed previously and attempted to install them by looking up guides and having no success.

also it has a separate arch version but has no explanation for how to install it.

https://command-not-found.com heres something that you can use to find the package for a command you dont have

command-not-found.com

Install any command on any operating system and in Docker.

yeah so sudo [command] runs it as root

(in general, there are some minor exceptions with | and > and the like)

press n & enter when it asks to delete
then cat [paste path to the /var/whatever.zst here]

I reset my steam deck and now I am going to retry after I get set a password for konsole

i missed a step that was not mentioned anywhere exept on steam, i needed to disable read write protection, so i did so

I've tried several commands ranging from:

$ sudo pacman-key --refresh
$ sudo pacman -S archlinux-keyring
$ pacman -S archlinux-keyring
