#NetworkManager disconnects from Wifi and shows connection with signal 0 in nmcli
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
Using nmcli shows that the networks close to me (my phone wifi and the router) have a 0 signal strength
when did this start happening ? what did you do differently? any updates?
I've been having issues with NetworkManager since the installation one month ago. It always took so long to connect to a network. It got worst with the passage of time
@shut barn are you using Wi-Fi or a wired connection with Ethernet?
Because Wi-Fi often times causes trouble on Linux (At least it did for me)
With a wired connection you’re on the safe side.
I'm using WiFi since my laptop doesn't have a RJ45 connection
Before using arch I used Manjaro and I had no issue, it connected fast to the network and it didn't disconnect from it
Why did you move away from manjaro then?
It has some disadvantages, but you could use EndeavourOS to have optimized pre configurations.
Which might solve your problem.
because i have my life lmao
I use a lot AUR and AUR is made for Arch even though it works in Manjaro
Btw, magically NetworkManager works ok again
So this is SOLVED
Manjaro isn’t recommended to use, I’d rather go with EndeavourOS.
But what you’re saying doesn’t make much sense. Manjaro is just based on Arch (basically a pre configured arch which does the "hard" work behind the scenes)
What the heck.
You definitely should. It’s a really popular distribution and quite nice for installing arch without any hassle.
Archinstall would be another nice alternative, even though it’s not as simple as EndeavourOS.
I have tried arco too in the past it worked well, i'll have to check each of them
The only thing I need is a distro that i can use until debian stable has support for my MT7921 network card -_-
If you want a pre-configured Arch system that's fairly light, ready to use, and with few surprises, EndeavourOS is probably the best choice. If you want to play around with all the things Linux has to offer, with new things being added on a regular basis, then go with Arco.
arco is going to be probably the one since i'm using awesomewm with my own dotfiles
@brave orchid do you mind if i dm you?
What is the matter? You can ask any question in this channel.
